There are some same-day appointment slots reserved for urgent issues (e.g. fever, sore throat, urinary tract infection, etc) which are NOT available on the online booking system. Please call the office for a same-day appointment slot.
We recommend you call our office to see if a same-day appointment is available first before attending a walk-in clinic.
You may book in-person and telephone appointments online. If you are experiencing a new physical concern, please book an in-person appointment so that a physical examination can be performed.
The adult annual physical exam or "check-up" has been replaced by the Periodic Health Visit. It has been shown that the outdated complete physical was not a useful way to go about disease prevention and management. Instead, the current focus is to do a periodic health review targeting your individual risk factors and health history. At your Periodic Health Visit, we will review preventive care that is relevant to you such as cancer screening tests, bloodwork and immunizations. The physical examination component might include checking your blood pressure and doing a pap test (females) or examining the prostate (males). We will not be doing a full "head-to-toe" physical exam.
Periodic Health Visits should be done every 1-3 years depending your health history. You may book a Periodic Health Visit if you have not had a Periodic Health Visit (or the former annual physical) in the last 12 months. At your appointment, your doctor will let you know when they would recommend your next Periodic Health Visit.
If you require assessment of a specific health concern, please book a separate appointment as this will not be the focus of the Periodic Health Visit.
If you are on your last refill, an appointment with your doctor is required for your next medication renewal. This is to ensure that your medication is still safe and appropriate for you. At your appointment, your doctor will give you enough refills to last until it needs to be re-assessed. It is your responsibility to obtain an appointment before you run out of medication. Please do not have your pharmacy fax automated refill requests unless you have discussed this with your doctor. There may be a $20.00 fee for faxed prescription refills.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or proceed to your nearest emergency department. For after-hours medical advice, you can call the Telephone Health Advisory Service (THAS) at 1-866-553-7205.
